OOTD: Gift from a friend for Punk Friday

"I think Jun was bored..."

T-shirt: Xmas gift from a friend at work
Socks: Forever 21
Jun: too fat but happy

My friend from work gave me this cute T-shirt for Xmas.
He knows I like punk style so he picked this design for me.
I did not know that this is a character from Super Mario game.
No wonder why everybody at work loved my outfit...
Very appropriate attire for work  :)

Recent Purchase: Fire King, Hazel Atlas, & Pyrex Milkglass

My friend in Japan is a successful business man who imports goods from all over the world.
I have sent him a few things from the US to help out in the past, including some milkglass.
He is now interested in milkglass again so he asked me if I still collect them.
I have not shopped for milkglass much lately, so I decided to see what I can get for him.
Fire King is the most popular brand in Japan and luckly I found quite a few of them last weekend.

Recent Purchase: Cocue Fukubukuro

Fukubukuro (lucky bag, mystery bag?) is a Japanese New Year's Day custom where merchants make grab bags filled with unknown random contents and sell them for a substantial discount, usually 50% or more off the list price of the items contained within. The low prices are usually done to attract customers to shop at that store during the new year.

¥17546 → ¥5000 → ¥3000
* The photo is just an example

Cocue is a Japanese fashion brand whose keywords are Oriental, Ethinc, and Folklore.

I used to wear their clothes when I was a teenager in Japan. They don't make much clothing any more but their shoes and bags are still very popular.

This fukubukuro includes:
 ① a pair of shoes
 ② a purse
 ③ 2-3 accessaries.

The online store had some bags with my shoe size left, plus they were cheaper than their original ¥5000 price.

So I called my mom to expect a package in few days ;)

I won't know what is in it till when I go back to Japan next time or if my mom is kind enough to send me pics!

Some of the bags have boots instead of shoes... that is what I am hoping for!

News: Anthropologie online Wedding Boutique opening on Valentine's day!

That's right!
Anthropologie's online wedding boutique "BHLDN" will be opening in
Feburuary 14th 2011

There is a rumor that there will be two stores opening shortly after the online opening.
One is going to be Huston TX... I think??
And I am not sure where the second one will be.

Even though I don't need to do wedding shopping, I would still love to see the store. They will not only have wedding gowns but also event dresses.

Photos below are from the Anthropologie May 2010 catalog.
When I saw those photos, I knew that Anthro would make beautiful wedding dresses.
I loved the photos so much that I actually bought the white shirt in the second photo.

Recent Purchase: Anthropologie "Hellebore Sweater Skirt" vs "Hellebore Sweater Skirt"

Since New Arrival items at Anthropologie have not been as exciting as last year, I did not go to the store for few weeks.
This Monday, I got off work early so I stopped by the store which is 5 minutes drive from my work.
Two of the skirts that I had on my wishlist since last year were on sale.

I could not decide which one to get so I grabbed both of them, but I can only afford one so I need to return the other...

Still cannot make the decision!!

Anthropologie "Hellebore Sweater Skirt"
$118 → $69.95

or

Anthropologie "Flowing Cables Sweater Skirt"
$98 → $49.95
