Recent Purchase: Fire King, Hazel Atlas, & Pyrex Milkglass

My friend in Japan is a successful business man who imports goods from all over the world.
I have sent him a few things from the US to help out in the past, including some milkglass.
He is now interested in milkglass again so he asked me if I still collect them.
I have not shopped for milkglass much lately, so I decided to see what I can get for him.
Fire King is the most popular brand in Japan and luckly I found quite a few of them last weekend.

Recent Purchase: Milkglass Salt & Pepper Shaker party!

I went to the street Antique Fair on Sunday and found these lovely pieces.

Then, I moved onto the next booth and found these cute ones (not even realizing I already own one of the pieces...)

And then... at the next booth, they had the set of FOUR!
It is rare and hard enough to find two pieces together.
I had to get these too!

Now, I have a collection...
(I also bought this rack at the same fair. How convenient!)

Hazel Atlas Currier and Ives Tumbler
Hazel Atlas Orange Juice Glasses

Such a cute girly design...
I just need to find two more cups

Adding pieces little by little

As soon as I gave away the saucer, the cup showed up...

Currier and Ives was a successful American printmaking firm

I hardly ever buy non-milk glass dishes any more, but I found this big piece few years ago. Now I have two cups to go with it!

Recent Purchase: Fire King Apple Stacking Mug

Fire King
Apple
Stacking Mug

A lot of Fire King mug collectors have this mug. And this is one of the series of four. (Apple, Orange, Lemon, and Pear)
I have seen those mugs around, but they have always been too expensive.
I bought this one from a nice old man with a decent price.
I wonder how long it will take to complete the whole set...
I am patient   :)

Recent Purchase: Great Thrift Finds!

Yesterday, we went to get our taxes done.
Our accountant, whom we have been with for years, lives in a small town which is a few hours drive from where we live.
I have not been to thrift stores in a while but I figured I should try some thrift stores in the area away from the city.
Then... I found these items below!
They had the Easter weekend sale going on so most of the items were 50% off.

(From the left front)
Glassbake: Vegetables Mug
Pyrex: Bradford House Mug
Old Spice: Shaving Mug
Federal: (unknown pattern) Cup & Saucer x4
Pyrex: Town and Country Casserole Bowl with lid
Pyrex: Butterfly Gold Sugar Bowl
Federal: (unknown pattern) Berry Bowl x2
Fire King: Hildi Casserole Dish

BCBGirls Shirt
(Brand New with Tag!)
$3.52 → $1.73 !

Monteau "Samurai Sweetheart Dress"
$7.99 → $3.99 !

I tried this dress on in the store over my shirt and jeans.
3 people complimented me in the dress so I felt like I needed to buy it...
Not bad for $4 !

Recent Purchase: Vintage Pyrex, Fire King and more!

It's good to wake up early sometimes.

I have not been able to sleep too well lately so I woke up pretty early this morning.
I went to the Antique Market and arrived there a little before they officially opened.
And... found all of those treasures!

Recent Purchase: Vintage Pyrex Butterprint Cinderella Nesting Bowl Set (Orange)

People who have been to my house know that I only own a few pieces of regular dishes.
Most of my dishes are vintage milk glass which were made from 40s to the 70s.
I discovered my first milk glass cup (which was Vintage Pyrex Oldtown print) in Feb. 2008 and quickly fell in love.
Since then, I have been collecting them little by little.
There are many companies who made this kind of kitchenware including: Fire King, Pyrex, Hazel Atlas, Federal, Glasbake and so on.
They are very popular in Japan.
People in Japan pay a crazy amount of money like $500 for a Fire King Snoopy Mug !!!

Vintage Pyrex Butter Print Cinderella NestingBowl

It is hard to find complete sets of bowls in this mint condition.
Plus the blue color for Butter Print is pretty common but this orange is very rare.
I saw the exact same set of bowls at one of the Japanese online stores and the price was over $200!

My Collection

This is only part of my collection.
I used to buy different colored ones but nowadays I mostly stick with white based ones.
